Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Film review

Honestly speaking, I did  not quite understand what the film  wants to convey….like convey what to which section of the society?!

Whatever little I saw and understood (I saw it bits and pcs folks – so maybe you’ll just get bits and pcs of the review).

One fella – played by Hritik – was brought up in dire poverty – with father having taken loan – expires before paying  off and thus the son had the responsibility to pay off & survive somehow – in a kind of ‘hand to mouth’ situation – and so his struggle to make money started early . He became a money making machine – did not give enough time to his girlfriend – so she breaks off with him ….it did not bother him much though….

Another fella – played by Farhan – , had been brought up by a step father but he was blissfully unaware of this fact which gets revealed to him by chance upon his death. He comes to know that his mother had ‘done the needful’ with someone else after all who did not want to take any responsibility of a ‘female body’ with an extra piece of mass (later that turns into a mouth)  as well growing in her womb. Some docile subservient male eventually marries the mother and accepts her child as his own and because of this guilt or maybe trying to show the society around him that he was a thorough gentleman  – he tried to play the father’s role very well – like not missing any sports day celeb etc. but all this did not really matter to  Farhan when he came to know about his biological father ….he set forth to Spain to seek his father – to know exactly why he left after a ‘beep’ session with his mother.

Another fellow – Abhay – a rich father’s son was in close  ‘attachment’ with a very rich female – having a good time with her but was not serious about her…… like he did not think of her as a marriage material – you see when you can use/ misuse/abuse an object before purchasing it – why would you want to purchase it – simple logic! But circumstances were such that their marriage gets fixed – much to his shock and disappointment.

So these three characters go for a ‘bachelor’s vacation’ to Spain and try out weird things to get over their fears etc. Hritik meets a ‘diving instructoress’ – a pretty bold female who teaches him to dive in water etc. She kisses him in a scene which makes him fall for her. Later his friend calls her over so that he could complete the entire process of copulation. After copulating he decides to ‘screw’ his job and marry the promising bold kisser. SO later they both will be probably instructors and…when not in tourist season – they will live like paupers – but then they can always ‘copulate’ since life will not get another chance and definitely it will not get such a sensually appealing bold life partner…..

Farhan’s biological father meets him but remains unimpressed – maybe a fleeting memory of a dumb female passed his memory … of how easy was it to make the dumbo ‘undress’ at the bat of an eyelid … and how she became pregnant and came to him thinking they will live happily ever after ! He dumped her and ran from there. Anyways farhan is hurt by his father’s nonchalant attitude and returns home…..but before retuning back to India, he manages to ‘hump’ a dumb female friend of the diving instructor. So you see – like father, like son. Now whether she became pregnant or he left her and went like his father – is not shown in this film. Just that he manages to bed her by requesting his friends to vacate the room and let him be alone with her. Hritik did not quite understand why he wanted seclusion – but the Instructoress understood very well and took him away……

Abhay, who had got caught in the snares of a rich but dumb & suspicious  female, decided to participate in a killer bull race – better to finish himself than to get entangled in this female’s web….

So these friends are trying to convey to the world that our great Indian saints and seers & ancestors  were basically fools who were wasting their time in social development and trying to bring up fellow human beings from pathetic conditions…. educating them, creating employment opportunities for them….all bogus – what we should actually do is accumulate money and go to some foreign location, take pictures ..mountains, valleys, fields…..hop skip jump around in festivals like a perfect monkey…why all this? Because ‘life will not give a second chance’….kewl!
